How do I apply for a TYO Internship?

How long do internships last?
The International Internship Program at TYO Nablus is usually twelve weeks with specific start and end dates.

How many hours a week do interns work?
TYO Interns maintain a full-time schedule similar to local and international staff members. Their schedule includes time for curriculum planning, classroom instruction, extracurricular activities and special programs. Interns are required to live on-site and be on-call beyond normal working hours throughout the program.

Is the internship paid?
TYO internships are unpaid, but TYO Interns benefit from free room and board and all-expenses paid group trips to various cultural events and Palestinian cities.

What does the internship selection process involve?
Applicants are required to submit application materials (cover letter, resume and references) by the specified deadline. Select applicants advance onto first and second round interviews until the intern group is finalized. Interns then work with TYO’s international staff to fine tune their classroom responsibilities for the program and prepare for arrival.

Do I need a work visa to apply?
Since the internship is voluntary and unpaid, work visas are not required. Israeli tourist visas will be issued a terminal of entry.

How we support you:
TYO’s International Internship Coordinator is the first and primary source of assistance for all interns and oversees all aspects of the International Internship Program. Additionally, TYO provides an in-depth cultural orientation, group trips to the greater area, and social events with local staff and volunteers. Interns also receive free room and board.
