Tomorrow’s Youth Organization (TYO) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that works in disadvantaged areas of the Middle East, enabling children, youth and parents to realize their potential as healthy, active and responsible family and community members. TYO Nablus
TYO’s first center in Nablus, Palestine engages residents of the city’s three refugee camps and other at-risk neighborhoods through 4 main initiatives:
- Core Child Program
TYO offers non-formal education classes in art, English, health, IT, music and sports for children ages 4-8. Our goal is to provide them with a safe space to experience the joys of childhood while also teaching practical skills and coping strategies.- Youth Service Learning
TYO trains local university students to support TYO teachers and provide positive role models for children. For their service, volunteers earn academic credit and a tuition grant for their university studies, as well as invaluable practical experience.- Family Involvement
A range of programs helps parents and siblings of TYO students to reach their individual potential and raise healthier and happier children. Our Nablus facility is currently piloting courses for adults in English, basic computer proficiency and effective parenting skills.- Community
Educational programs as well as cultural and recreational activities like Open Days and sporting events are open to all members of the local community. These events, as well as ongoing contact through local organizations and institutions, ensures that TYO is always working in line with the capacities, needs and interests of its constituents.
For TYO, Community Outreach also means engaging the international community in our work in Nablus. We achieve this by bringing international college and graduate students to intern at the center and collaborating with other international organizations. This global outreach provides Nablus citizens with world-class resources and helps us advocate for Nablusi citizens, telling their story to the rest of the world.
