FWEME Entrepreneurs in Lebanon Expand Their Horizons!

Through FWEME, TYO-Lebanon’s efforts focus on integrating businesses skills training with other essential skills to provide female entrepreneurs in Lebanon with the tools they need to be successful businesswomen. The two year program is now in the third and final phase. Women have received extensive business training and coaching throughout the project and are now focusing on developing their English and IT skills, expanding their networks, growing their businesses, and accessing financial support. There is an emerging belief that women make great entrepreneurs. At TYO-L we’ve been working hard with our beneficiaries to ensure each one of their businesses isn’t just successful- but that their business are truly great. They dream big, start small, and develop wonderful results. Our beneficiaries at TYO Lebanon made great results and worked very hard to reach the final phase of the FWEME project. They created different approaches for their business plans and maintained a strong commitment to environmentally responsible business practices. TYO-L Marks International Women’s Week with Smartphone Technology Training and the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women Webinar hosted by Mrs. Blair!

Last Thursday, TYO-Lebanon FWEME beneficiaries gathered at the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Zahle and Bekaa to attend a special webinar with Mrs. Blair to mark International Women’s Day. The webinar discussed different challenges that women face around the world, and offered a variety of ways that women can work together to face these challenges. The webinar brought together 100 people from over 20 countries to connect and celebrate the achievements of women from all corners of the globe. FWEME Celebrates One-Year!

The FWEME project has just celebrated its one-year anniversary in November and we’re so proud of the progress of our women entrepreneurs! In the one year that has passed, the women have gained a tremendous amount of experience through their 4-day IBB trainings and their one-on-one work with their business coach. Women Empowered at the IWECI Summit

Recently, women have been more involved in business sectors and they are developing to be a great part of society. Loftus-Farren, in his article: “Why Are Women Left out of Climate Change Policy Making?” He believes that women’s empowerment, rights of nature, and a breakthrough are the IWECI (International Women’s Earth and Climate Initiative) Summit’s mission of boosting women’s role. In partnership with the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women and implemented by Tomorrow’s Youth Organization-Lebanon, (TYO-L) we are pleased to announce the success of the “4-Day Intensive Business Basics Training Course – IBB” which was held at Bar Elias Municipality, Bekaa on August 26, 27, 28, and 29 2013 from 9:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M.
