Read all about them! Mecca Mecca Abney was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She obtained a dual degree in Communications and African-American Studies from Temple University. Introducing the Summer 2016 EFL Fellow class of the STEP! II Program. 6 fellows from the United States and Colombia have been selected to teach intensive English as a Foreign Language classes at TYO. Read all about them! Emma Emma grew up on a ranch in northern California. Her undergraduate degree is in International Relations and French, with a certificate in peace and conflict resolution from Bennington College. Read all about them! Phoebe Shambaugh Phoebe was born in a small town outside of Montpelier, Vermont, and lived there until moving to Chicago for her undergraduate degree. Sarah is very excited to join the TYO team and work with children and families in the Nablus community​, specifically teaching ESL to children in our Core early childhood program and volunteers in our Youth Service Learning program.​ Born and raised in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, she graduated from Gettysburg College in 2013 with a degree in Globalization Studies, focusing on the nexus between health, gender, and development, and a minor in Health Science and Peace and Justice Studies. Welcoming our Summer 2015 intern, Ashley!

TYO is thrilled to welcome Ashley as a Summer 2015 intern to Nablus! Ashley recently gradated from the University of Redlands, California with a double major in Sociology and Women’s and Gender Studies. While still at university, Ashley worked as Sexual Violence Program Coordinator facilitating workshops on consent, alcohol, sexual violence and active bystanding. Ashley was also a mentor at the Students Together Empowering Peers program where she supported incoming freshman on stress and time-management, writing, and organization skills. TYO is pleased to introduce the Fall 2014 International Interns! They come from diverse backgrounds – all the way from Washington and Colorado in the United States. Read all about them! Jade Jade grew up in Washington State. After finishing high school, she moved to Seattle to work full time as an AmeriCorps literacy tutor with a prominent immigrant and refugee community. Her work with AmeriCorps inspired her to study Linguistics and Human Rights at the University of Washington. Laura Laura is from the UK and in December, she graduated with MSc International Development from the University of Birmingham. Introducing the Fall 2013 interns! This session, six outstanding interns have been selected to work in the Nablus community. All with very different backgrounds, meet this session’s newest additions to the TYO team! Zak Zak is a native of Madison, Ohio and received his BA in International Affairs from Univerisity of Maine and is currently completing his MA in Interational Relations from University of Edinburgh in Scotland.
