Nell was TYO’s founding director from December 2007 – March 2012. She lived at the Flagship Center in Nablus for its first two years of operations. Nell is now advising TYO and other social enterprises in the Middle East and Africa following a decade of experience in international education and earning MBAs from Columbia and London Business Schools (January 2012). After completing her BA in psychology at Harvard (2002), Nell spent a year in each Tokyo and Champagne, France teaching English to young people. She earned a Masters at Cambridge University in pedagogy and education policy. After the degree, she managed an international network of 150 youth leaders, as well as overseeing UN, World Bank, and NGO partnerships and establishing an intercultural dialogue program at The Glocal Forum in Rome. In 2006, she earned a Masters in intercultural education at the Universita’ di Roma. Language study is one of Nell’s favorite excuses to travel, and she’s working on Portuguese (in Sao Paolo and Mozambique) to add to her Italian, French, Japanese and shwaya Arabic skills.
