Public Health and Hygiene in Palestine

One definition of health is said to be the general condition of a person’s mind, body and spirit; usually meaning to be free from illness, injury or pain. A Good Kind of Chaos in the Classroom

Welcome Friends Old and New!

Fall session has begun and at TYO we are always excited to welcome back old faces and greet new ones. That means it is time for old friends to reunite, and new ones to forge lasting memories. Open Day Against Junk Food

Last week we were so excited to share news about the opening of the playground in Deir al Hatab, a Youth Action Local Leadership Alliance (YALLA) civic engagement initiative. This week, another YALLA project was wrapped up – the Campaign Against Junk Food. The Campaign Against Junk Food started when two young community members – Rola and Deema – wanted to educate children in their village and surrounding cities, about the harmful effects of junk food. YALLA initiatives, like the playground in Deir al Hatab and the Campaign Against Junk Food, are designed to empower youth to build and develop the community. Introducing Women’s Incubation Services for Entrepreneurs

One of TYO’s staunchest messages has always been our belief in fostering in women’s economic independence in Palestine; not only for long-term economic growth, but also for the prosperity of women’s personal development. In July 2012 TYO joined a partnership with the PalTel Group Foundation for a project intended to benefit budding entrepreneurs in the northern West Bank. Women’s Incubation Services for Entrepreneurs (WISE) is a project funded by by the generous support of the PalTel Group Foundation, and supported by partners Small Enterprise Center (SEC) and Souktel. Psychosocial Programs Make Children Happiest

Children enrolled in the early childhood programs at Tomorrows Youth Organization (TYO) started their first week of classes last week. TYO offers different programs that enable children to discover and express themselves. The children we work with come from very crowded environments in the refugee camps and the underprivileged areas that lack safe, open spaces for children to play. TYO offers kids the space to play and develop their personalities. The Women’s Group One Year Anniversary!

One year ago, TYO launched The Women’s Group (TWG) with the aim of increasing our support efforts for disadvantaged women in Nablus. Within a year’s time we have amassed a depth of knowledge, lessons and experience, which we used to restore our existing system to create a more enriching program. One of the major updates we made was aligning the weekly subject-matter of TWG seminars with that of the early childhood Core Program in order to thoroughly meet TYO’s holistic approach of reaching the community.
