Last Day Celebration

On Wednesday, 16 December 2009 Tomorrow’s Youth Organization celebrated the last day of its fall session in Nablus. The children experienced an exciting array of activities offered by TYO, including art, sports and face painting activities. Operation Smile generously donated a hat, t-shirt and gift to each child and volunteer in honor of the last day. It was a beautiful celebration! The Afternoon Core Program children participated in an excellent training on human rights and child rights, including activities such as role playing and drawing. The children were engaged and absorbed in the subject at hand. Key concepts and themes of human rights were broken down so that the children could easily understand them and participate. They discussed the right to learn, play, agree/refuse and live in peace and safety. Each discussion was Continue reading…

On Thursday, 3 December The Abraham Path Initiative and several partner organizations sponsored “Cultural Walking Tourism in Palestine” a seminar on the various themes of cultural walking in Palestine at Bethlehem University. Following the seminar, attendees were invited to participate in a virtual path exhibition composed of kiosks representing cities and villages in Palestine. Several TYO volunteers led by Volunteer Coordinator Imad and myself represented Nablus along the virtual path. It was a productive seminar and a very exciting day.  The volunteers thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to travel to the southern West Bank and interact with their peers at Bethlehem Continue reading…

Intern Journal: Tae Bo, Food and Fun

I thought it might be a nice change from our usual aerobics steps. I set up the projector so the entire class could follow Continue reading…
